Electronic ticket (E-ticket) is a modern technology for purchasing air ticket, paperless form of standard ticket. For the first time the electronic data processing technology appeared in 1996 in USA and soon after it became widespread in most countries of the world. Today it is the most popular and suitable form of ticketing for passengers in Europe and America. In the year 2008 all the members of International Air Transport Association will be required to use E-tickets. Ural Airlines started to introduce E-ticketing procedure. Implementation of electronic data processing system by the Airline was preceded by long-term gradual preparation of many Airline’s departments and agreed cooperation with airports. At the same time, the problem of e-ticket legitimacy was considered by the Russian Law. Today, Ural Airlines is ready for practical use of electronic ticketing, and our passengers can buy tickets as millions of people in other countries. What is an electronic ticket?E-ticket and its advantagesElectronic passenger ticket and luggage-ticket – itinerary / receipt – is an electronic version of air ticket offered instead of traditional paper ticket and securely stored in Airline’s special data base in electronic form. Passenger is given itinerary / receipt containing passenger information, route, airfare, payment and ticketing office data etc. Here is an example of itinerary / receipt Reservation procedure for the Airline’s flights does not depend from ticket type and is processed as usual. Where and how E-ticket can be purchased?At the moment an electronic ticket can be purchased only at own ticketing offices of Ural Airlines and at website of the airline uralairlines.ru/en/ What means can be used for E-ticket to be paid?When purchasing an electronic ticket at own ticketing offices of the Airline or authorized agencies the payment can be effected by plastic payment card and by cash. When electronic ticket is purchased at the Airline website the payment can be effected by plastic payment card or electronic cash. What proves E-ticket purchase?If the carriage is drawn up by E-ticket a passenger is given an itinerary / receipt and after payment by cash or plastic card a fiscal check is issued by cash register facilities. The itinerary / receipt contains complete information on itinerary, form, payment details, carriage conditions etc. similar to paper ticket. You are recommended to keep a copy of your electronic ticket confirmation during the whole trip. Moreover, your itinerary / receipt can be required by Aviation Security Services for entering the airport or during passport control or customs inspection procedures as a confirmation that you have a return ticket or multi-leg flight. What does E-ticket certify?Electronic passenger ticket or luggage receipt (electronic ticket) is the document used to certify a transport agreement for air carriage of passenger and his/ her luggage. Check-in procedure under E-ticketCheck-in procedure at the airport is performed on the base of identity papers (passport for adult passengers and birth certificate for children). Personal passenger data shall be identical with the data specified in an electronic ticket. During check-in at the airport a passenger is given a boarding card and baggage tag (when baggage check-in under Carrier’s responsibility). Duplicates of boarding cards are not issued. Boarding cards received before aircraft embarkation are required to keep up to the end of trip. Change of itinerary under E-ticketIn case a change of carriage conditions is required a passenger can apply to Information Service by telephone number 8(800) 2000 - 262, own ticketing offices of the Airline or its authorized agencies. E-ticket reimbursementFor reimbursement of an electronic ticket cost in accordance with the applicable fare rules a passenger shall apply to the Airline’s ticketing offices or authorized agencies. Opportunity for issuing paper ticket in destinations where E-ticket is usedUpon request of a passenger the air transport service can be issued on paper ticket. Where can E-tickets be purchased?
